sweet jessie

While thumbing through my FFF file, I came across Sweet Jessie's site. And while there, I stopped dead in my tracks when I saw THIS! I know, I know, there are several things catching your attention.........let me help you zero in............
Could you die? A perfect PINK cabinet/hutch......thingy ma bob..........what ever the real name of this piece of furniture is........I love it.
As I poked around some more, I could see right away she was crazy for anything vintage and has a flair for making you want to start collecting all the same things.

Like cool old books so you can make cool art. Isn't that amazing?

Guess what this is...............guess.

nope........it's not a quilt........even though she does make those too. This is a vintage wallpaper collage. Who woulda thunk.

She uses her scraps to make cool Tee's.

Or fabric banner cards...........these have to be the cutest thing I've seen all day.As if the Tee and the cards wouldn't have been a great teacher gift...........she created her own personal teacher gift. WOW! Have I mentioned that one of my degree's is in Physical Ed K-12? This has me re-thinking my decision to teach in a school.Enjoy poking around. She has lots and lots to look at. You'll have to look for her paint by number "Salon".

Don't forget to leave her a nice comment........proving that TCB readers are the best!

For the Love of Paper ~ Kimberly Crawford

It's Friday! You know what that means? Besides that I have a physical therapy appt in about 15 min with Helga..........but maybe I'll get a little bit of scrapping in this weekend.
I have not scrapped for at least 2 months. GASP!
But Kimberly's creations on her FOR THE LOVE OF PAPER are just the trick to get me inspired.

Maybe you need to make your valentine's day cards?
Gawd, I hope you're not one of those mom's that makes your children's cards for their school party. Seriously.........the kids don't care and you're making all us other mom's look bad............because I COULD make them if I wanted.........but..but...but..........I don't want to.
Anyhooooo.............Kimberly. Love her layouts, love her cards. Go take a quick peek at what's she got goin on.......
Surely you'll grab a few ideas.
Just in time for Valentines day for your lovie. I love to see unpainted chipboard. That has to be the biggest reason I never use mine........besides that I haven't scrapped lately........but I hate painting it....not because I don't like it painted........because I'm lazy.I think these kind of layouts are so ..................so...........perfect! What a great way to chart your "normal" day to show your family in years to come.
Even if you don't scrapbook, you can still do this. I would love to see what my day was like when I was 4 or 5.
More cards. What I think is so nice about her cards........because it makes it easy to scraplift..........her cards have that high "WOW" factor, but actually do-able for most paper people. No fancy paper folding, no fancy pop ups.........She really knows how to work with color and where to place her elements. If you're not a scrapper, or a card maker, then you probably don't think that's that big of a deal, but................in my best Kramer voice ...."oh it's a big deal!"This card could easily swing both ways.........for a guy or for a girl. It's always hard to make a card for a man.
Are these colors perfect or what? I LOVE these colors together........yes, I want to marry them.
And let's say you have a blank wall and you can't figure out what to put on it? Or the piece of art you want is way too expensive? Tah Dah!!! Just grab your favorite designer scrapbook paper, a few 12x12 frames and you are set. I did something similar in college. We didn't have anything on the walls. I bought an old framed painting at a garage sale for .50cents, bought some really cool fabric and stapled it over the frame. Hung it up. Her idea looks WAY better. No art for the playroom, or your childs bedroom? Never fear.........grab a few frames from IKEA, a few more pieces of you favorite paper..........and you've got yourself a cute, colorful wall arrangment. Great Idea!
Thanks Kimberly! I love your ideas! OK TCB blog people..........GO!
and what is up with the spell check on blogger not working? Sorry people...........I'm in Fitness, not Writing.

Crafts by Louly

Crafts by Louly!
I chose Louly for a variety of reasons...........I call my son Louly, his real name is Lucas, I think she's cute..........and most of all because I think her crafty skills are really really good.

The girl has some really interesting cards. Cards that take a lot more patience and skill than I ever have when I'm crafting. And, I think I read that she has children.......maybe even a baby! How in the world does she do it? I bet she doesn't ever sleep. Her attention to detail is remarkable. It's no wonder why she's on so many design teams. I wish I had that in me..........but I can be the laziest craft person ever. If I can't reach it, I won't use it. :) Sad, but it's true about 80% of the time.

Would you look at this idea below? A purse card? It even opens. Wouldn't this be the cutest holder for a gift card? I'm sure most of us are in "gift " mode by now........this is ideal.

Love this idea below!

Another word I would use to describe Louly, is resourceful! Would you look at what she did with these bottles? Yes, these two glass items used to be bottles. A beer bottle and a wine bottle! I can honestly say, I have never seen that before...........or even thought of it. Growing up in Oregon, I am very aware of the bottle bill, but this takes recycling to a whole new level. Great job!

These would make pretty patio candle holders too.

While I'm bragging on how resourceful she is..........look at what she did with this necklace below. See the leaves? Remember the leaves.

TaDa! Will you look at that?

Do you send Christmas Cards? Do you make them? I made mine last year and I'm kind of making them this year. Are you wondering what that means? You'll see. But while we have Christmas cards on our minds, look at this way cool card below. I would frame that.

See that can?
Oh yes she did!

She waved her magic recycling wand and made a useful storage item for a few elements that we crafty people like to finger.

Brilliant!

Go pay Louly a visit..........yes, I know her name is really Louise, but I like Louly. Go pay her a visit and see what her first photo is. It will knock your socks off.

Weekend Stamper

I'm not much of a stamper. Sure, I have a few stamps and I own a few ink pads..........but I don't feel very talented creating with stamps. I just plop images down on paper and hope for the best.

But Happy Emilia or at the Weekend Stamper is a Stamp Goddess.
She is someone I'd love to take a class from. Her cards are more than just stamping. She also paints on them. Don't you think her cards look so original? Her cards remind of illustrations from a children's book. They really have their own style...........Paper Crafts magazine should really scoop this girl up.
What I am really loving about her blog is her step by step instruction. So, if you are new to stamping or card making.......you can follow along. I get some great ideas from her and the way she uses her stamps. Brilliant I tell ya.

. You know I love a fake topiary! These are so cute I could eat them......well maybe not EAT them. But did you notice the corks? If I'm going to do this project, I'm gonna need to drink some wine. That's my kind of project.
You must go see............Click HERE

Lisa - Bits& Pieces

I'm back from doing a little antique shopping. You can view my treasures on my personal blog Scrap-To-My-Lu. The little plates and the vintage wall paper will be future give aways for sure.

This girl can crank out the cards! I love her cards! She has so many different styles, shapes and designs...........I never get bored. I think she should post more........yes, one a day would be great. :)

I was looking around for some scrapbooking inspiration since I really need to get some done. So, I started looking through my favorites and just kept coming back to Lisa's site.

I wish I could make such beautiful cards for people...........but I have this thing about giving them something I worked so hard on and thinking it will end up in the garbage. Do you think it's rude to ask people for the card back? LOL! If I wasn't so proper, I'm sure I would do that.

This Pirate card is the best!
I really really like this wedding card. Love the kraft paper with white embossing. Beautiful and original.

I was also surprised to see my site listed in her links! Thanks!
