Southern Hospitality

It's hot out........90 degree's...........see it doesn't ALWAYS rain in the NW.

I dream of visting the South. Sittin on one of those big plantation porches, sweet tea in one hand, and a big juicy Georgia peach in the other.

Which brings me to todays blog.............Southern Hospitality
Her banner does it for me. I don't even have to look any further to be inspired, but I did and look what I found. She is a yard sale queen, I love her already. She can see past the dust, maybe just paint it a different color. She creates new pieces for her home from bargains! What I really really love is how she will tell you what it cost her. I have a girlfriend that we can't help but blurt out the price for every bargain we find. When I first met my husband, he was confused by this behavior and wondered if I was being tacky. He's used to it now, especially when I blurt out the price of his presents at Christmas and birthdays......I'm just so proud and excited.........and I think Rhoda gets it. She's proud to find a treasure! I sure wish she lived around here and we could go bargain shopping together. I really want that pear. And I love that bird tray. Maybe it's best we live in different states, because it probably wouldn't be too lady like to wrestle her to the ground over a pear.
She found this box for $1 and re-did it.
Her talents don't stop with decorating her house, apparently she is quite the gardener too.

She has WAY more patience than me. Can you see the detail in this armoire? See those stripes? They are from old bedding! So cool! And that peach I am holding?..................I guess it's from Alabama.

Kim, thank you SO much for featuring my blog today! I will give you a mention on my blog too, so others can stop by & see all the creative blogs that you find & feature.

I loved reading your description of my blog...yeah, I have no shame when it comes to bargains & I will gladly tell you how much I paid for something, LOL. I don't know if that's a Southern thing or not (apparently NOT!), but I love to share my bargain success. It's such a thrill to find great things for pennies & it's really spoiled me to shopping retail now. The MALL...haven't shopped there in years!

Thanks again, Kim!

A stop by my good friend Rhoda's blog for a catch-up led me here- nice place! Our shared love of decorating brought Rho and I together, and I have known her personally for a few years now. I have to say that she is indeed a very talented lady, and just as sweet and true-hearted as they come. I am glad you honored her by sharing her gifts here!

Rhoda is a sweetheart with loads of talent. I became acquainted with her years ago on a decorating board. I remember being awestruck by what she could and did accomplish. This is a well deserved shout out.
