Once upon a time I was assigned a position on our schools PTA board.  It was a new school, so some of the parents were new to me too.  At our first meeting, we all gathered around a table and I couldn’t help but notice that our fund raising person was MALE!  Not that men can’t be involved with their children’s educations……but it took me off guard for a moment.  Then I got to know Will.  We are cut from the same cloth when it comes to our sense of humor.  Will made being on the PTA so fun……..then we both realized we had more in common….he has a bag company that makes these amazing craft totes and I’m a crafter!  SWEET!

Numbers!

I hope you all are ready for some amazing ideas today!  I love those ideas that were thought up outside the box…..using something ridiculously expensive for inspiration.  Because we all know just because it cost a lot, does NOT mean it’s better or not tacky……or worth it. 

The Stories of A 2 Z

Beth has a wonderful blog with my kind of ideas!  Things that make me all warm and fuzzy!   Beth lives in here……..and as you can tell, she remodeled her half…..and she’s been asked to help the new owners with the other half.That is NOT a photo shopped photo.  Here place is obviously on the Left.

She’s takes us through all her decorating challenges, changes and ideas!  I loved every minute of it.

 

This is the 3rd numbered staircase I have seen!  I am even more motivated to somehow get one in my home.  I’d love to have it be my stairs leading to the upstairs, but I think I’ll have to settle for the ones leading to our daylight basement.  I love them.  I have to have them.While we’re talking about numbers…….can we really have too many numbers?  Because I don’t think so.  I’m still planning a little hutch re-do with some numbers…….I gotta get busy.

Put your drink down, because this next project will have you gasping! 

I know!  I’m doing it too……I may already have some jars around this place. She’s got a full tutorial about it and make sure to read it in case you’re like me and had the DUH moment about not using the inside lid.  DUH!  Her porch is lovely.  A few more numbers.   I’ll have an iced tea please.  Actually I’ve been craving a Mojito.  No numbers, but monograms.  And seriously……..this looks straight out of a Pottery Barn catalog. Master bedroom……..Yum, that fabric is pretty yummy.    She’s talented at decorating cupcakes too…….Super mom made these for her little boys 6th birthday.  They also went canoeing.  See the theme?

She shares “life in the city” stories with her readers.  Like when her trash can was stolen.  She thought long and hard about it and decided to take matters into her own hands…….

She decided to deliver the lid.

The girl is crafty!   I think I just fell in love with her.

She’s smart too…….she wasn’t going to lose another can to some fool. She marked her territory.  Now I have never seen a decorated trash can before.  I would steal this too……the idea, not the can….except our little city supplies these ugly dark blue ones.  If you’re looking to spruce up your place with original ideas, you’ll be happy as a clam visiting her blog.  Don’t forget to surprise her about being featured here.  I love that!

Sweet Life

I met  April while in Utah.  We were actually sitting next to each other for awhile.  I like her.  (yes, I liked them all……but that’s not always the case) 

Her blog Simply the Sweet Life is like flipping through a Martha Stewart or Real Simple magazine.  I just keep scrolling and scrolling looking at her gorgeous photos.  Maybe because she has a wonderful online mag called CraziBeautiful.  It’s full of some great stuff………you’ll enjoy it.  I promise……..pinky promise.

Pico de gallo – Yum…….nothing like fresh pico on a warm summer evening.  My brother inlaw makes some pretty good pico.

On her CraziBeautiful site……you’ll find a ton of topics.  Including a cooking section.  She got a few contributors who help fill her site with TO DIY FOR treats and meals.  Like this Raspberry Pound Ice Cream cake……..Need a fancy cake, but you don’t have a lot of time?  This is your recipe.Since Raspberries are in season……..you may as well make some raspberry lemonade.    It always looks so nice.My sis makes this dessert!  I’m thinking this dessert is a signature dish like funeral potatoes for these Utah families.  They do love their jello.  Yum!  I love this.  The crust is crushed pretzels!  Also found on her CraziBeautiful Magazine…….RootBeer Float CupCakes!   (you know you can find cute cupcake liners at Skip To My Lou’s new bake shop – SWEET!)OK, so if you’re not eating carbs like me……you can still enjoy yourself by looking at all the other fun categories she has.

had added one to Get Your Craft On!  Perfect timing.  I’m still trying to decide what I want mine to say.  It was also SO perfect that I saw this, because I don’t really have a lot of time to write a full feature today…….did you know it takes me at least 2 hours?  But I thought you’d all be satisfied with this project.  She has a great tutorial.

And I love the idea of using chip board for your stenciling….gotta use them up somehow.

She also shares with you what she used to paint it.  Looks great doesn’t it? I think you’ll enjoy her blog.  Love the design……..you know I love pears………She’s a simple woman who makes you feel right at home.  Oh how I love creative women. Go surprise her!

I love decorating and I love thrifting….when they both come together, I am one happy camper!  Creating a well decorated home being innovative has so much more appeal than buying everything at Pottery Barn or Pier 1…….What talent’s in that?

This idea is genius….maybe I’m late to the party, but this is a great idea that I’ve never seen.  We all love painted pots…..

Those are the same pots…….then she placed them in the window above her door.  Genius!  Yep, I’m stealing that idea.  Anyone else with me?Here’s another idea that I’ve only seen a couple of times.  Take one old cute mason jar……..Grab a pumper out of an empty bottle……make sure it’s a good one….nothing worse than one that doesn’t pump.Punch a hole in the lid of the jar…….she has a whole tutorial…..and you’ve got yourself the most darling soap dispenser that ever graced this Earth! How about more cute pots?  Terracotta pots are inexpensive and make such cute decor.   

She too has jumped on the Rosette band wagon…….and I’m so glad she did.  This wreath is very cute.  Perfect for any room. I couldn’t help but notice how perfect her bows were…..and here’s another example below with a fab chalk board.  We love our chalk boards.     Once again………I have never seen this.  I’m a fan of painting just about anything for the sake of decorating, but a book?  YES!  A book!Looks good already…….I knew I should have bought that stamp…….    SHUT UP!  Can you believe it?  This opens up SO many great ideas.  You could do themes for holiday’s, seasons………oh the wheels are turning! Then take that cheese cloche you found at Good Will, fill it with anything birdy, place it on top of your newly painted book……and you have yourself one of the cutest things ever.  Pottery Barn eat your heart out.

OK!  NOW I know I’ve featured her!  :)
