Something to do for you snowed in folks…..

While I sit in my mild temps with intermittent showers, my mind drifts to all you bloggy friends who are experiencing the Arctic Blast or way below average temps …..like Florida.  When we have snow or ice, I suddenly think I’m Martha Stewart and want to bake bake bake.

So this is for you my friends.  Bake at 350

 

Wouldn’t a chocolate Pumpkin muffin be really good right now? knockoffwoodplayhousebed2 You could serve it up when the kids come in from sledding with a cup of hot cocoa……let’s get them bouncing off the walls the right way.chocpumpmuffinsBridgets site has tips, tutorials on how to make her little gems…..She gives us all her knowledge on icing……..how to make monograms……how to design a specific shaped cookie when there’s no cookie cutter.  And if you know in a million years you are never going to try and make cookies like hers, then you can come sit next to me and we’ll just enjoy the amazing show.  bunovenWho would think to make OVEN cookies?  Bridget would……those have got to be the cutest thing ever.

My son will be turning 11 soon……..I have been wracking my brain on what kind of party to plan…..something special and memorable.  He of course wants to go the the Rec Center and plan a big dodge ball game with his friends…..Boys.  But if I were talented like Bridget, I could serve some really cool cookies……..I bet I could manage to make a round circle cookie and decorate it like a ball.…… maybe.  Could I just do plain round sugar cookies and tell them it’s a ball?  soldiersflagsstarsMy pup Mabie just had her one year birthday!  I could have made dog biscuits like this.   Well, it’s a good idea……white scotties plaidWe love monograms…..monogrammed pillows, plates, mugs, wall art…….She’ll teach you how she does it.  She’s nice like that.  It warms my heart when creative women share what they do.g's 010  Heck she shows you step by step how she makes the icing she uses.  meringue powder and sugar      I couldn’t leave out this photo…..I love this.  This would actually be kind of cool to decorate with.  cookie_cuttersSo get that apron on and get baking!

YUM! Thanks for sharing this! I think dodge ball cookies would be great! Remember, they are boys and will no doubt wolf them down. Would they appreciate that you spent a whole half hour making and decorating each one? (rhetorical question)

The cold weather makes me want to bake up all kinds of stuff myself.
I start reading through recipes and acting like I know what I'm doing. Not!
