Barefoot and Pregnant

If you really want to get my attention, then just paint your door red.  Oh how I love a red doorIMG_0484But if you want to knock my socks off, then just design a dress and use discarded drapes for fabric. Yes…….she did.  She used old curtains and made this dress.  IMG_2636Whatever………

Barefoot in the Kitchen is another multi-talented super mom…….and yes…….she’s pregnant too.  :) She majored in Home and Family so she has put her degree to use…….she even sells her dresses.  IMG_2142If you sew……or you think you can……she has a couple of tutorials.  TUTORIALS!  She shows one for this adorable dress below.  Don’t judge me, but I’d wear that if it was in my size.  It is THAT cute.IMG_2753  She puts skirts on just about everything……..I love a sink skirt.  I even made one once……..for my bathroom sink in my 1940s apt in Portland.  Amazing what velcro and a cute shower curtain will do.IMG_1151 I love this photo below.  Look at that adorable room.  The baby is cute too.  She’s got quite the story about how she slipped going down the stairs with this baby.  That was one of my biggest fears……So glad everything turned out OK.IMG_1589 Just incase you thought perhaps she flunked the baking section of her degree……..Nope.  She has lots of really yummy looking treats.  This is a double chocolate cake.  Oh my!IMG_1542 Or chocolate chocolate chip ice cream sandwiches.  I’m a goner.IMG_0578

Loved her writing.  Loved all her family stories……and I realized that we were both in Utah at the same time last Summer!  We probably passed each other in Roberts.  Go welcome her to the TCB club.  Make me proud.  :)

Come back tomorrow for Friday’s Giveaway!

The best part about that blog is that the author is FOR REALS. There is no pretense here. I know her, and she is every bit as lovely and confident and peaceful as her writing and photos suggest. Some gals just do it all! (And still love the ones like me who don't!)

This is the most talented and creative Mom ever. She can decorate her house, paint, sew, cook etc. She even upholsters her furniture. She is a super Mom and wife. She is my granddaughter and she is truly all of the above.
