Holiday Cards?

Holiday cards..........do you normally make them? I have made them the last two years and even though they were cute, it does take extra time that sometimes adds just enough stress to make you say.................CRAZY! Last year I ordered cute 2x2 inch photos of my son.........you can see the layout I did with the extras here.......I bought the $1 card packs from Michael's. I framed the darling little photo, then added glitter around the edge........see, that's where it all went wrong. It looked great before placing in the envelope. But when people opened it up, the glitter was smeared all over my darling off springs face, plus everywhere else. All that work.......up in glitter. This year I vowed to order a photo card. Simple. Let someone else do the work. And I don't even have to get my butt up off this chair. I love what Peek-a-boo Paperie has to offer for their holiday line. They mostly specialize in baby announcements.......which sending one of those out for a 9 yr old is out........so I was happy to see their holiday line. Very cute designs. Not your typical run of the mill Costco look. Not that there's anything wrong with Costco. I love Costco.

Believe it or not, it's time to get those ordered. Let the fun begin.

I am in the midst of holiday card decision hell over here right now. LOL

I use overnight prints and make postcards. Cheaper postage, easy to mail. Love.

Over the past few years I've been going cheap on the cards and elaborate on the writing. One year it was a collection of Christmas Haiku, such as:
front yard tree removed
big hole from stump, now it rains.
swimming pool? koi pond?

One year it was lampooned Christmas songs that told stories of what happened to us during that year. (Our most popular card that everyone saved.)

Another year it was a Christmas resume - we were applying for the job of wishing everyone all the etc that we wish them at this time of year.

This year I'm trying to decide if I want to go simple with a pretty card and limited writing, or if I want another silly project. Maybe baseball trading card style photos of each of us, complete with stats? Our 13 year old can be the Rookie. Or maybe pretty cards...?

Hmmm. Kim, you just made this tough decision tougher. Thanks.
LOL :o)

I'm probably too late in saying this, but just a little FYI: I'm trying to branch out into Christmas cards, etc. I've done a few baby announcements, weddings invites and some Holiday cards for friends, but obviously I'd like to get some more clients! So, if you're interested, I'd LOVE to design some cards for you and your family, at cost (no markup, just printing fees)! Let me know if you're interested, thanks! *B
