Bitter Betty is a fun fun fun girl. She reminds me of my friend Treva, always ready for the perfect pose...........and good at it. Some people can pull it off.......me? I just look cheesy. But if I was making all those cute clothes, you better believe I would be showing them off too.
She cracks me up. She was talking about how depressed she was about turning 40 and not being able to come to Portland..........hey!.............that's where I live...........well I did until 6 yrs ago......then we moved across the river..but I'm there everyday.............anyway...........she was depressed about turning 40 and being the mother of a teenager.........HA! I totally have her beat. I turned 40 and took my first and only child for his first day of pre-school. That's depressing. Heck I was probably still breast feeding. (kidding)
But she totally has me beat in the crafty sewing department. When I first looked at the pattern of the western shirt, I wasn't so sure about that. I couldn't get past the fashion visions of the 70s growing up in Central Oregon. Wasn't pretty people.
But then look what she did. WOW! I would totally wear that! So cute. So hip.And you know I love any woman who has a collection of old vintage suitcases. I have a stack I use as a side table in my family room. I know some people just don't get it. I'm sure my sister inlaw thinks I'm just too poor and that I'm saving my pennies for a queen anne end table like hers. If she only knew how stylish I was.
And this collection of anatomical figures is WILD! I love that! It takes guts to decorate with the unexpected.........it takes talent to pull it off. Great job!
Would you look at these adorable pups she makes.............SHE MAKES THEM! So so so so so CUTE!The expressions are priceless.
She is DA BOMB at making anything we did in the 70s hip again. This sign language embroidering is amazing.
I knew she was a flower child in hiding...............look what she did with these holiday tins. Just paint them, add a stencil. Brilliant. Why didn't I think of that? Great way to recycle your older ones. And no post would be complete without a tutorial. Once again, this is something that takes way more patience than I have, but wow! When it's done, you've got a masterpiece. Very Alicia Poseyish. (she's from Portland too) Please please please go tell her hello. I have a feeling she LOVES comments and that only means more pretty pictures for us. That's the way I work too.........the more comments I get, the more posts you get. :) Wicked I know.
