Red Doors make me Happy!

Just came home from Tamra's funeral. It was a nice service, but so so hard to see her children and her husband.
As I re-group and let my mind go numb for awhile, eating a few cheeto's...... I decided to clean out my email boxes. Then I came across all my red door photos I had asked for awhile ago. You know how I LOVE a red door!
I'll kick it off with a photo of MY RED DOOR! This was taken a couple of years ago........please don't think I'm already decorated for Fall. I have actually decided lately that I don't like anything hanging on my door. I just love my Bee Hook. I am planning to add a vinyl "Welcome" to the middle. Someday I'll have a new door. I hate that window arch. But for now, it's fine. The color is Positive Red by Sherwin Williams.
More Red Doors. If I was a good blogger, I would be organized to add who's red door it is........but I'm not a good blogger.........I'm a blooger instead. So if you see your door, please shout out in the comments. I know this one below is Karma's door. I love the 6 windows.

And I know this Lion one is Penny from Lavender Penny.

Now aren't you a bit happier than when you started reading? Me too.

ok, so did you paint your door yourself? i'm dying for a tutorial, because you're more than qualified to give one! it looks great! we just moved last spring and that stinking door has been on my mind ever since. i've always adored red doors, but i am terrified of painting my now-white standard entry door- not wood- it's made of...whatever normal entry doors are made of... steel? whatever. i'm terrified to paint it! also, i've been doing the visual in my mind- we have a grey house and charcoal stain on the porch and i've been wondering how this would all look in the end. and kichow, there you go having the same colors as me- except you have great sidelights and i don't. anyway, if you did paint it yourself, i'd love some tips! a whole post? thanks!

I like your red door but I really like the pumpkins in the urn... how did you get them to stay on top of each other? I'm thinking you would have to drill a hole in them and connect them with a dowel rod but the life of the pumpkins would be greatly shortened....what is your secret?

We are just in the process of renovating and a new door will be in the works. I was thinking blue, but after looking at all these beautiful red doors you just may have changed my mind.

Thanks...

I love red doors too. I saw an old neighbor attempt it though and they did like 7 coats of red couldn't get it right and then took it all off. Craziness!@ So I haven't been brave enough to even think about it since then. Those are gorgeous pics.

Red doors make for good fung shui. I love the color red and the color of your door. Red is a happy energizing color and great for stimulating the appetite. Cheers. Enjoy your cheetos. Tammy ;D

I LOVE red doors! But if I were to paint my door red it would look weird with my house...so then I would have to paint my house!

I too have a red door! But, I wish it looked like the one in picture #3. How cute is that? I agree, red doors make me happy.

Love your blog, stop by mine if you get the chance.

Take care,

Kim, we have the same door...but mine is still primer white! Red would never match our house - which is yellow-beige with chocolate trim, but I'm thinking sage green...

I would love a bigger window in our door - not a big fan of the existing door style at all!

Hi Kim -
if I had a door like you I would be in door-heaven ;o) My dream is to have a dark-red door with a window arch like yours ;O)
It's great that I'm not the only one with an obsession to red doors...
Cheers, Julia

Kim,
Thanks for posting my red door (the third door after your door-- the one with the 12 window panes and the black flower pots). Everytime I'm in my sunroom I smile at the sight of my red door. To anyone who's hesitant about painting their door red (like I was), I say go for it!

We are much happier at the end, then the beginning, but don't want to minimize your loss. Death at anytime is so difficult, let alone when people are young. So sorry to hear about your friend.

it makes me want to run out and buy some red paint. ;)

My husband is at his sister's funeral right now. We couldn't all travel. While we will miss her, it is for her 2 kids that we truly mourn. Cancer SUCKS!

Red doors are just so scruptious aren't they? I too have the window arch. We are thinking of installing a leaded glass window.

I love red doors. I was wondering since there are so many others that love red doors could you tell me what a red door means? Also if I want to convert my dark green door that now matches our shutters and my siding is clay color which is a mix of beige-y with a tint of brown.

The question I have is how do I make it NOT look like a Chritmas house?
That's what is scaring me on painting it.

You can email me if you really want to help this poor girl out on this dilemma, lol!
