Chatting at the Sky!

I was having a hard time today choosing a blog. I have several in my "future feature file", but they have to grab me when I click on them. I always want to start a feature with a spark of excitement.........and it just wasn't coming to me. Not that the bloggers in my "FFF" were no longer inspiring...........I think it was just me today. Sitting in 90 degree heat for 2 hrs waiting for Soccer camp to get out.........still in my clothes I taught three classes in.........it kind of puts a damper on your creative side. It also didn't help that I had started a book a couple of days ago and when I start a book, it consumes me. I'm telling you........reading is bad for you.......it's a nasty habit.
But.........
I really wanted to get a post out to you all. You've been such great readers and you deserve to be inspired and I must be the one to do that. I have had The Nester's sister in my FFF for a while. Chatting at the Sky ....She's just as witty, talented and has great writing abilities. Plus if she's Nester's sister, you KNOW she's gonna bring us inspiration.

Do you ever get tired of BEFORE and AFTERS? ............me neither!

This first one is of her kitchen...........I believe in her old house. Very typical........the honey oak cabinets......bla bla blaWOW! This kitchen makes me drool! I love the boldness of the black cabinets......it looks SO much better! It doesn't even look like the same kitchen. Amazing!

She recently moved to a home that needed a bit of work before moving in. Mostly updating work. I love seeing a home transformed into something new. Here's a look at her new living room. I have to admit......especially after seeing all the photos, that I'm not sure if I would have been able to see the vision. First of all, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have been able to get past the paneling. But before you are so judgemental like me.....take a gander at this! What a little paint won't do. And she swears by the color Tobacco Road. I think this is my favorite room re-do. This is the laundry room. Can you see the vision? Can you believe it? WOW!Her blog is so fun to read. Like I mentioned, she's funny. And she's thought provoking. So much more than a pretty room here.

She also posted this little basket that The Nester is giving away. She's in need of a computer and I don't know about you......but we can't have her without a computer. We'd miss her too much. She won't buy a computer without having the cash in hand......so she's selling her tassels. After you visit Chatting at the Sky, you'll have to drop back by The Nester.

Yay!!! I loves me some chatty Emily ;)! Her design posts are mixed in with her regular stuff, and she's always so humble about it all--but man! she's got a great eye to go along with that great voice of hers. Great choice Kim!

This is so exciting! Seriously, is it Christmas and am I 6? because I totally feel like it! Thanks for the feature. You have made my day! (let's be honest, this is the most exciting thing that's gonna happen all month.)

Thank you so much for thinking I'm creative and taking the time to talk about it. Those before shots of my house still depress me. But yeah for paint and a little imagination!

My sister is the most wonderful, fun, amazing person in the whole wide world! Love her! Love her beautiful, family friendly house full of sweet preschoolers! Love her tobacco road paneling, bright sunroom, chandeliers and wood floors!

I'm so glad you featured her, Kim! And thanks for the computer mention--I'm about 80% of the way there!!!!

Wouldn't it be fun if we could all three get together sometime--oh, and jennifer p would SOOO have to come too!

I have been in love with Emily's blog for some time. She deserves the mention on here, and I'm so happy that other people appreciate her writing like I do. Yeah for Emily!

Hi Kim!
I've been reading Chatting at the Sky for a couple of months as well as the Nester. I've gotten some great ideas from those sisters, and I check them out almost every day! Glad to see you featuring Emily today!

I love these before and afters! Seriously, it's all in the paint, and so many people are afraid to potentially "ruin" wood by painting over it. I'm in the process of refinishing a 1937 dresser.

Just found your blog and I love it. I'm finding so many great ideas. I'm packing up my house now to move at the end of the month. We have done so much work to it - I'm really sad about leaving, but excited to start on a new place. I recently put some before and after pics up on my blog. Can we say avocado?

Do you think she'll let me borrow her eyes when we start house hunting this fall? The hubby wants a bargain, so we're looking at the cosmetically challenged listings.
I hope I can see these houses the way she does!

Love these redos! I had forgotten about the Nester...and so her sister is blogging too and just as talented...
Oh! About my fountain...just buy a little pump at Wal-Mart...put it in a bowl of water and add rocks, etc. and plug it in!

I love your blog. :o) So many great links to some really great blogs. Aren't those black cabinets in the kitchen beautiful? Oh if I only had more than one kitchen in my house to make my husband paint! That would solve all my indecision problems!

It is amazing how a little paint and some vision can change a room so completely. I love before and after's especially when they are ones that I could potentially manage on my own!
