Questions Answered

I was tagged a couple of days ago and thought it would be more interesting if you asked me a few questions, rather than for me to come up with another list of facts.

So, here it goes.

what after-school clubs, if any, did you do in high school/jr.high?
In Highschool and Jr High, I was pretty much into cheerleading and gymnastics. That was my life! I loved every minute of it........I'm such a show dog.

In college I was on a dance company.......I am stunned that he was actually RUNNING while holding me. RUNNING! I was skinny and missed it.

What has been your worst job?
Hmmm? My worst job? Even though rouging potatoes was hard work, it was lots of fun........what? You don't know what rouging potatoes is? It's checking potato plants for disease. These pototoes were sold for seed. Very easy until the plants got big. Plus we had acres and acres to do. I did this job with a couple of friends, we would start out really early in the AM and be home to watch The Young and the Restless. Overall it was a great job and we were paid well for 1979....... $7.50 hr. But I wouldn't say that was my worst. Maybe, possibly could it have been the summer I spent in Alaska working at the fish processing plants? Nope......again very hard work, but I had a ball. I'd have to say that it was working for the first Athletic club I worked at. But it really wasn't the job. It was the owner. He was such a perv. We used to type secret messages on his typewriter telling him we knew he was peeking in on the tanning beds. Yes.......typewriter........it was that long ago.

What's your favorite non-craft blog to read or check out?
Non- craft blog? Is there such a thing? I'd say it would have to be Dooce. I first thought of Pioneer Woman, but I featured her.........so I guess she's crafty.

Where did you go and what did you do on your best vacation ever? Where would you like to go someday?
I haven't traveled too much. I loved New York........even though I broke out with Shingles once I got home.........yes it rocked my world. Loved my honeymoon in Maui........but I'd have to say it was Disneyland 3 yrs ago. We were thrilled to take our son when he turned 5. It was nothing less than magical. I'm not one of those over the top Disney fans, but it was always a place I wanted to go as a child.........but we never did. I didn't experience Disney until I was 15 with another family. Below is a photo of us (marla and me) at Lucky Changs in NY. Our waiter.........waitress.......was a transgender person. That was my second trip.......no shingles that time.

I would love to go to Italy. Right now..........I'd love to go to Utah to see my sister.

5. What is your favorite board game to play?Sue in Alexandria VA I love parcheese.....but I love chinese checkers too.

How did you and your husband meet?
My husband and I met through one of my best friends. She went to HighSchool with him. She had tried to set us up several times, but I kept telling her No, that he wasn't my type. One last attempt, she took me to a Rudolph the Reindeer party at his house. He had these parties every year where he would broadcast Rudolph through out the house on about 8 TVs. He had a quiz, a few contests...etc... After the party my girlfriend asked me "so? what did you think?" I wasn't even aware that she was trying to set us up again. Then she asked if I would go out with him if he asked me. I told her that of course I would, I wouldn't turn down a date by a guy would was normal and had a job.....but that he wasn't my type. I also told her I would only go if she went with us. She did. That was Feb of 96.......we were engaged by Dec 96.

I you could go anywhere and do anything, what would that be? (ie: I would live on an English Moor and Knit/Scrapbook/Sew/Read all day)
Gosh......so many things run through my mind. Like go to Chicago and see Oprah.......but not only see her, but hang out, go to dinner.

I would also love to travel to the South. I'd like to sit on the porch of a beautiful southern plantation and sip sweet tea............

When did you know you were a photographer?
I'm a photographer? I wish! I would LOVE to know as much as the photographers I have featured here. f-stop....f-bomb......pretty much the same to me now. (I don't really say that.........I leave that up to Dooce or Laura)

If you could do anything in the world, what would it be? Besides solve world hunger and world peace?
I am all over the place on this one. Of course I would LOVE to be a successful photographer..........I would love to have more skills to redecorate..........you know like tearing down stuff and rebuilding it............I'd love to be an expert seamstress. I could go on and on.

But if anything, all that really matters is what kind of mom I am. Seriously. So true what Jackie O said. "If you bungle raising your children, I don't think whatever else you do matters very much.”

That's my precious boy........a couple of years ago. I love this photo of him and one of his best friends. This was taken towards the end of the summer and we had run into them at the fair. They were so thrilled to see each other. And you have to love the no front teeth.........all four of them were gone.

You are officially invited to the South. I live in Alabama, but not on a Southern plantation. I do have a back porch and would love to sip sweet tea with you!

I'm with Lucy. Would love to have you visit my "plantation". We'll sit on the porch and sip sweet tea all day long then retire under the magnolia tea for dinner. :) Lynn

Italy sounds so perfect right now! Lets go!
I so agree with you about raising children. Though not much credit is given to hard working parents who chose to actually raise their children rather than just let them grow up, it is one of the most important and rewarding jobs in life.

I think anyone who loves photography as much as you is a photographer...(at least a photorapher in training like the rest of us :o)

I enjoyed reading the answers to your questions today :o)

Loved this...you are as real as you seem...which is great, because you never disappoint: one of my favourite sayings is "it is what it is" and I suspect you share that philosophy.

Thanks for the glimpse into your life!!
