Teacher gifts are always hard. This is pretty original.......incorporates the children's art work, and looks like something the teacher would love.
Then make a beautiful bullentin board using any fabric that blows your skirt up..........Love it! She made this for her daughters room. I think I need to make one of these for my son's Explorer room, or his newly cleaned up Playroom.Speaking of play........she is all about being creative with the kids. She helped them make these little lanterns. Use some tissue paper, feathers, glue, add a handle..........plop a glo stick inside and you are ready for some Fairy hunting. Just to prove she spoils her children...........and who doesn't.....she made this darling princess castle thingy for her daughters birthday party. It's designed to go over a round table. What little girl wouldn't want to hang out under the table? Heck......if there's cake, I'd like to hang out under the table. That is really really sweet.Did someone say CAKE?! Look at that cake! Love the simplistic look with only the top and middles frosted. The sides are always so hard for me anyway. And this adorable gourd on top with the leaves...........it couldn't be any cuter if you ask me. The colors are perfect aren't they?
I really enjoyed snooping around her blogs. I'm pretty sure she's from my neck of the woods.......maybe even my old neighborhood in Mt. Tabor. Her blogs are fun to read with lots of crafty eye candy and lots of great mom stories. She totally hit the nail on the head when describing the feeling of life changes when your child heads to school. She has a way with words.
Enjoy
Yes, spell check is still broken. I'm going to stop eating until it's fixed.

I'm so happy to have discovered your blog! It's great to be connected to other creative moms. My new blog is www.alittleloveliness.blogspot.com. I love writing, crafting, and especially hosting birthday parties. I hope you'll stop by to see 2-year-old Emma's Sweet Shoppe and 4-year-old Mary Ashley's "StrawMary Shortcake" parties. I plan to stop in here daily!
Oh my goodness. I'm in love with the lampshade trimmed with flowers at the bottom. So lovely!

I love your blog, Kim. Ususally I just lurk, checking out all the cool stuff you find. And I have to say, usually you're right on the money. Tuesday, however... Let me start by saying I love all the lamp shades (what a crafty girl), however, as a primary teacher, the lampshade as a teacher gift...well, let's just say I get enough "teacher" stuff. We are people outside the classroom! ; ) Anyway, just had to share my two cents (which I ususally don't do). Keep up the great job of finding nifty blogs for us to read.
Yea...I was right there with you on the whole not eating thing b/c of the blog spell check debatacle...until I looked at that scrumptous cake one more time....now that is what blows my skirt up...among a lot of her other creations.
Blessings...
Teresa
it's great how you can spot an Oregonian. I only lived there for 41/2 fantastic years, but sometimes I can tell, too. I lived very close to Mt. Tabor, 61st & Burnside, and went to school around 45th and Belmont (massage school). I miss is so very much. I will be there in April to visit my friend who just had a baby. I wasn't much of a crafter when i lived there, so maybe you could let me in on a few shop choices for when I'm there. :)
