a little perspective

It has been brought to my attention that I was pretty whiny yesterday. Actually she said "sometimes you get nauseatingly whiny." So, I want to apologize to anyone that may have been uncomfortable or offended by my whininess. (is that even a word?) I hope my whining didn't get in the way of how amazingly talented I think Cathy is. Or any of the other people I feature.

The fact is.........I do whine. From my side it's all in good fun and I never thought how it may be viewed by the reader. I guess it didn't really matter to me....... So, I'll try not to be too whiny, but I can't promise anything. I've got a quick and dry sense of humor with a pretty sarcastic flavor, but I do want to convey my support for women and their talents. I certainly wouldn't want to take away from that when I feature a blog. I feature blogs to keep our inspiration flowing, to give kudos to women who are doing what they love.
Thanks for the insight.

I don't think you're whiny. I enjoy your posts and appreciate your humor and wit. I've always read your "whining" as funny and relate to it well because well, seeing how creative some people are makes me whiny too!

Just keep keeping it real.

I enjoy your whininess. I feel your whininess. I live your whininess.

Oh give me a break! If you don't like something you read online, you don't have to keep reading it. And it's YOUR blog. I didn't hear any whine, but if you had, um, it's YOUR space to do as you please. Someone just pooped in her Cheerios. Have a good weekend!

Hey, if you want to whine...it's your blog-go ahead. But of course, I don't think you do. Love your blog. Blessings to you.

Girl, you should not apologize one bit for being ANYthing on YOUR blog! I thought you were perfectly witty, and if anyone else can't appreciate witty, she shouldn't read your blog!

Julie said...

"It's your blog and you can whine if you want to!" snicker snicker!

PS - I am whinning because my husband won't let me paint the front door red... :o(

Your sense of humor is one of the reason I always return-beside the fact that you feature great stuff. Your wittiness (not a word I know) makes me laugh and you should not have to apologize for who you are!

Someone actually left that as a comment!? How rude! I love your sense of humor and have never found you whiney. Please ignore someones rude attitude and don't change a thing. If they don't like your "voice" they need to go elsewhere and not leave nasty opinions.

I am in agreement. be who you are and if people don't like it, then they can go pound sand!

I drop by daily to see who's being profiled on your blog. I've never found you to be whiny and I totally get the sarcasim because it's a trait I have too. There are a lot of creative women out there and I know that sometimes I just wanna pout, whine and generally feel sorry for myself for not having the "super talents" they have.
Please just keep being you and sharing all the great blogs/websites you find. After all, this is your site and if someone objects too bad for them because they're missing a lot of great stuff.

You're great. . . don't fret about it! I don't often leave comments but I'm here all the time. (from Portland, too!) Keep up the good work!

The only whiner would be the commenter who accused you of that.

Some folks.....jeez!

Love your site and if you got a nasty troll comment, it just means you have arrived.

Keep up the good work!

wow, I can't imagine the need to tell someone in THIER OWN SPACE that they are too whinney. Sometimes I think people just need to feel superior and they will do that in any matter they can.

I have known about you for 3 days and I bet I've been here 40 times already, I LOVE IT!

Anonymous said...

oh whatever! you were not whining! At least I didn't read it that way at ALL! So whine (although I don't think of it as a true whine) away! It's your site! Write how you want to! :)

Elle Jay Bee said...

Puh-lease...you whiny? Pfff...you make me laugh my a** off with your "put on a bra" jokes and the like! In my opinion, there is not enough sarcasm in the blogging world. In fact, too much saccharine is more of a bitter pill to swallow than some good-humoured kidding around. Let that roll off your back, and don't change a thing...or I'll start whining!!!

Huh??? I can't believe someone thought that you were whiney. I just wanted you to know that I soooo enjoy reading your posts as I know so many other people do. Your writing style is like reading a letter from an old friend. You're self-depreciating sense of humour makes me laugh out loud by myself in my computer room!! Obviously this person didn't "get it" but for the 99.99999% of the people who do, I say "blog on"!!!

whatever it is that you do.....I LOVE IT!!!!! I look forward to it everyday!

ooh, let's get together and beat up the whiner whining about whining.

What is this sarcasm that you speak of? It's a totally foreign concept to me.

The only thing nauseating is someone telling you what to do on YOUR blog. Man, I wish my balls were that big. Don't change a thing!

Anonymous said...

I haven't noticed you whining but if this blog is your "whinings" then please don't stop do that :)
You are great!
best wishes from Denmark

i think it's funny that someone thought you were whiny! even if you are...who cares? and by the way i DON'T think you are in the least! i do LOVE your humor and your sarcasticness (?) i think we can relate alot in that area!
just remember you can't please everyone, all the time...it's not our job!
keep it coming!

If this person was your mom or your best friend and approached you privately over coffee you STILL would only have to take their ideas into consideration--total strangers being taste police on a blog? Don't worry about it!

I love your blog, I love your friendly, personal, funny tone--now I am also a total stranger on a blog...so take it for what it's worth! :)

Um, I'm whining too that I can't make cute little artsy things out of paper and glue and talent.

Anyone got a problem with that?

Keep it up Kim :).

I didn't think you were whining. I appreciated your honesty. Thanks for keepin' it REAL.

Keep up the good work!

I always feel like you are whining for humorous effect and not in seriousness. I would think that if you were seriously whining, you wouldn't be featuring great blogs everyday or the name of your site would be something like "Another *rolling eyes* Creative Blog *sigh*". :-) I love checking them out. Thanks. Back to lurking.

I guess if she thinks you are "neuseatingly whiny" she shouldn't read your blog. I love your blog and try to read it everyday for a little humor during my work day! Keep up what your doing and don't let it get you down! You just can't please some people....

I am with everyone else, except the one without the sense of humor. I love your wit and sense of humor and would not come and visit, daily, if you weren't so darn fun!~

Whiny...schminy...I NEVER get that impression. I love your wit, sarcasim? and honesty...and it appears most others do, too. What you do by promoting other women is really an awesome thing...so you should be applauded not chastised...I love your site...and if you're a whiner...then I guess I am, too...b/c I think we have the same type of humor...so from one whiner to another...would you like some Cheese with that whine? REALLY...A whiner...I would have NEVER thought of that as a description of you...you always appear to be upbeat, funny, caring, energetic and honest. So tell that person...to put that in their pipe and smoke it!

Blessings...

I KNOW --- hanging head in shame..I was stupid enough to ask him what he thought about it. I don't normally do that and by now -he should just trust me..since so many times before he did not think he would like my creations while they were in transition..and then ended up loving them once complete!

Here is a funny story. I did a LOT of reconstruction on my last home. One day he came home and I had used a sledge hammer to break through a wall - the beginning of a wood framed walkway between the foyer and the den.. When he saw the big hole in the wall, he said, "Aren't you happy unless something is torn to sh**?" I just shook my head and laughed at him. A couple of months later - he was dragging our neighbors into our house to show them what I had done... and now he is asking me to do something simular to make a bedroom larger in the 'home' where we now live!

I love your web sight girl! Keep up the good work!

Whiney? i'll give you whiney - a roomful of first graders who just wasted away their play time arguing about who's gonna pick up the snap cubes. Or my house and sometimes my own personal 4 year old. But YOU? I don't think so. Your blog is on my favorites, so don't change a thing about the witty way you have with words. :)

wow if you are considered whiny I'd be afraid of what they'd call me!!

Didn't their Mama teach them that if they cannot say something nice, just don't say anything at all?
I agree with tiffany, all wit, no whine goin' on here!

Sandra said...

I agree with all the comments here. Your sense of humor is what keeps us comming back for more.
I wouldn't say you whine at all.

Whine? Where?

Sherry said...

Whiny? No. I think you have a wonderful sense of humour, sense of yourself and sense of whimsy. You are expressing your awe for what others can do -- besides, it IS your blog and you can speak any way you wish...just sayin' ....

Are you kidding me? whining is good for the soul I always say! I believe that was said by some great philosoper somewhere 100's of years ago... :) I think my WHOLE blog is based on whining in some sort of shape or form....I just throw pictures in there to divert everyone's attention :) Whine away...my ear is always open! Karin :)
