Farm Sink

You know I usually feel pretty good about my home……until I see something like this.

Home and Harmony

I always wonder how people can stay focused on a certain vision.  I love her style.  The house is to die for……..

imageThis is the kitchen before……nice…….but doesn’t quite match the house.  I love the little girl peeking around the corner.image

After…….so much better.  image

How about a closer look at those cabinets?  Cool huh?image But what really makes me green with envy is this sink!  I want a farm sink……when I mention that to my husband, he has no idea what I’m talking about.  Apparently my husband is finally reading my blog……THIS IS A FARM SINK!

image   If she hasn’t been in a magazine yet….she will be.  Very soon.  This dining room below is amazing.  Love that settee (bench) in the back.  image Just a little view from the kitchen to the family room.  And she has 6 children!  6!  I was wondering how she had time to decorate and manage the house, then I came across her post on chores.imageEach child receives his clip board with morning and evening chores on it.   Boy do I feel like a loser……my son has very few chores.image

And with all those kids, how many bedrooms must they have?

Well……this solves that problem and it’s cute too.  I love the way many of her ideas are really about simplicity and a vision.image

Speaking of vision……would you ever think this buffet could be your kitchen island?  imageGreat vision and now she has an original kitchen island.  Functional too.image  Simplicity at it’s best…..throwing together a quick center piece using what you have.  A couple of bowls, some greens, a few votives and a dinner bell.  Perfect.image

Her blog is lovely!   It’s worth the trip.  Please surprise her and let her know she’s been featured on TCB.  I don’t tell people ahead of time you know.

Our farm house is 100+ years old and I'd love a farm sink. We've decided to get one and, perhaps, put in the marble counter tops from the old courthouse building. I've been saving those for years, they about broke my back when Daddy and I, with permission, took them out of the courthouse that was being torn down.

So many beautiful photos. Love the clipboard idea. When my 4 grown up kids were young we had a list of chores for each one that was listed inside the pantry door.

Excellent choice. I love Rie's home and her creativity in raising her large family. She is also a lovely blogger who takes the time to comment and respond despite having 6 little ones around. Her house is Wonderful!

That house's architecture is amazing! I also love the buffet turned kitchen island. I never would have thought of that!

The opening line of your post sounds exactly like something I'd say. I love my home, and I'm really proud of it. But then I go and see something like this and I'm all "why can't I have that?" Lol. We're never satisfied!

Thanks for sharing!

I. Love. That. SINK!!! My husband has done demolition work and a couple times has brought home those old fashioned farmhouse sinks with the built-in drainboard and a high backsplash - all cast iron, of course. But the sink in your photo is amazing! You could bathe two kids in it at once - or bathe the dog or wash a year's worth of carrots from the garden! Good grief..there's all kinds of stuff one could do with that sink!
