Sweet Pickles and Chocolate

I usually fly by the seat of my pants when it comes to writing this blog. Surprised aren’t you?   I go where the wind takes me and if I’m inspired by a blog…..I feature it…….that day!

This week, this month……..I’m going to try and have a theme………we’ll see if it works for me.

This week, it’s about Table settings for Thanksgiving…..Center pieces ……….decorating the table……..I usually labor over my Thanksgiving table since all my inlaws are here and my mother and I MUST impress everyone with my inspiring talent.  Because then they may think that I actually keep my house that clean ALL THE TIME.  You can see my last years table setting HERE .   This year however I am going EXTRA simple.  Kids TableThe pressure is off.  I am using this idea and will elaborate a bit. Imagine on a 99 inch table, cuter chairs….with more elaborate table decor……call me crazy, but I love it.  But this post isn’t about me………or is it?

Now if you’re looking for a more exciting table, Sweet Pickles and Chocolate may have what you’re looking for.

But first of all…….anyone willing to show us her before and after of her refrigerator is top in my book. DSC00586DSC00589 I’ve been guilty of doing this……you know we all feel that odd accomplishment when we complete a task like this.  I think it’s probably similar to a marathon runner when they complete a marathon.  I do.This is just a little tablescape she created…..what I love is how she shows you set by step of setting the place setting.  DSC00707DSC00709DSC00712 She also will share where she found any of the items……love that.  We love a gal who’ll share.

She writes for a magazine and was asked to help design a table…..this is what they came up with.  Just so you know…….I have that same Turkey.  I bought it at Target a few years ago for $5.99….what I think is funny, is someone at the table will have the turkey butt to stare at.

Here’s the full view.

_MG_5913Don’t be fooled for a minute thinking that’s all she does……….is play with dishes.  This woman can put any man to shame with her carpentry skills.  She MADE a window box.    I bet she can sew too.  UGH!DSC00029DSC00028

Darling!  Love the green walls too.

Wow! I can't believe she built that window seat (I mean I DO believe you, but it's incredible :-)). The tablescape is pretty too...

I LOVE LOVE that kids table idea...that looks like a table from Target that I have been eyeing anyway...may just have to talk the husband into getting it before Thanksgiving! :)

Wow! I really wish we had a spot for a window seat like that. Hmmmm......time to tour the house again. There's just gotta be room for one around here somewhere.....

That makes me laugh because I once did a fridge and pantry before and after and this just proves that we all love a little B & A!
