Covered in Crafts

Fun fun fun!

Elizabeth from Covered in Crafts has many crafty things to keep you busy for awhile!  And guess what?  She even shows you how………you know what that’s called right………YES!  A TUTORIAL!  Love em!

First on my list are these candles!  Stamping on candles…….another one of those brilliant ways to change something dull into something fabulous!  She tells you how to dress up your candles…..dumb me was thinking “how do you get a flat stamp to stamp on a curved surface”  I know I am not the only one………She does it on paper first, then applies it to the candle.  My DUH moment for the week.  I get so excited about things, I never stop to think of the logistics of it.

Now this I have done before!  I had a stampin up party once and we stamped on tiles……I love this idea whether you are using them for coasters, or display.  Great gift idea and not too spendy.  And if I can do it, you can do it.  Really.

I just have to say that I love the look of rub ons on glass.  I also have to say that I need to brag on myself and say that I used some silver snowflake rub ons…….before they were popular with scrapbooking…..You had to get them in the decal section at Michaels.   I used them on wine glasses for Christmas dinner. I was careful to place them lower than any lips would fall.  They looked so cool and I’m sure……..no I’m positive that my in laws were more than impressed.  Sadly they washed off after dinner…….but they didn’t know that…..and no one ended up with silver snowflaky lips………

So…..same principle on this vase. Rub on’s on glass.  What a great way to dress up anything.vase

I am so irritated that there weren’t all these free downloads and ideas for candy bar wraps and such when I got married!  I love these.  I even saw some for water bottles that I downloaded to use someday to impress more people. She has a free download for these below.  And people………seriously………don’t be emailing me asking me where on her blog………if you look around, you’ll find it and if you don’t……..just email her……..I cannot be a crafty hand holder.  But I do love emails.  :)

damaskwrappers Elizabeth also looks for ways to save our planet……….that ranks high with me.  She recycled this plastic to use for an faux acrylic back.  mountsWhy spend money on something when it’s already in your garbage can…….well it’s never IN my garbage can because I recycle……I’m in Washington…….not Utah. (oooooh, that was a low blow……..yes yes yes…….there are SOME people and communities who recycle in Utah……just not enough)halloweenhanging  Sassy…….I am sassy today………..So sassy that I could get away with wearing butterflies on my shirt! ts1ts3 Stenciling is another way to take a simple product and make it better.  Guess what? She shows you how……….TUTORIAL!  Glass Etching……..Seriously, I need to try this.  One of the best ideas I have ever learned was from a few LDS gals…….those darn LDS gals……….they…..as in all of them……..etch their initials on the bottom of their funeral potato dish.  No masking tape marked with a sharpie for them……Brilliant.  Another great idea for gift.cp6    Paper Roses……..paper roses……I love Marie Osmond…….actually I love Donny more, but I do like them together.  And yes, I did a drive by on Donny’s house when I was in Utah.  Anyhoooo…….you can learn to make paper roses from her blog too.

Cakes and lots of them……she has many decorated cakes to show you.  This looks too good to eat.  She gives up her secrets and tells you what she used to make each shape and all.  polkadot Once again, this crafty gal has many categories to spark your interest.  It’s bound to tickle your crafty bone.  Enjoy!

Utah! ha... The City of Chattanooga did away with their recycling program all together several years ago. As far as recycling goes, the Chattanooga valley sucks! People still try at least I guess, but I bet 95% of the peopled don't even know where to take their items. Just had to mention that. ; )
