A Day in the Life of Ramona

OK, I have one thing to say..........this woman's blog is all about the unexpected. She takes all the things I love and "colors outside the lines". And I absolutely love it. She's making me think outside the box. She reconfirms that it's OK to do things a bit differently. Create your own concoction....not just following a picture in a magazine. A Day in the Life of Ramona will take you on a magical decorating ride.......full of surprises, breaking the rules........leaving you brimming full of creative ideas to add to your home.

Like Lemons in a nest? Wait I thought you could only put eggs in a nest, and lemons in a glass hurricane or bowl. Apparently I am wrong, because I love this.
And you thought fruits and veggies were only for eating. Silly silly girl......decorating with anything from a bush or tree is the best way ever. I have pears, lemons, artichokes all over my house, but never never never have I thought to adorn my plants with a pile of fruit. The unexpected......... I am SO going to do this.

My Mormon sister in Utah has a craft room.......that she doesn't use I might add........in this craft room the previous owner left a box of these toppers. Now I know what I'm going to do when I visit her this summer. We're going to attach them to everything and anything.
This below is a tomato cage topper she made.
She made a whole basket of them. I'm going to steal this too.........the idea anyway. Although Ramona does live in my area.........about 40 min away........do you think she'd notice if I borrowed her toppers? (I would NEVER steal anything, so no need to send me nasty emails.)

Here's another example below. Why not stick one of these topper thingys under a nest.......a nest that's holding a bunny.......The Unexpected.
More examples.....this is a bit more expected, but I love the distressed black and I love the cabinet in the background because I have one almost just like it that I painted.........because it makes me believe I have her kind of style.

Back to the Unexpected..........Why not place old silverware in your garden? I may hold off on this idea. With a 10 yr old boy playing around.....he's bound to either use it to eat with, or use it to dig with. He just wouldn't get it.

If you look closely.........she's got a plate stuck in the dirt. Just what my son would need. I love the idea of using pretty plates that you've accidentally broken for garden art.

Just in case you didn't believe me..........here it is up close.
Did you ever think a collection was getting out of hand? Cockadoodle DO! I love roosters........I have a few in my kitchen......I will no longer worry if I have too many. She doesn't and it turned out fabulous!

More roosters and more importantly........a peek into her living room.

I wanted to show you a cute little bird house she did too. She has more.........I could have posted a thousand photos......so much to look at on her blog.
House pillows! She has lots of pillows..........cute pillows.......and she makes most of them. So jealous.
Are you sitting down? Look at what she did to her daughters dresser! Decoupaged fabric!

That's it! She must invite me over! Ramona........I'll bring you a cookie............
I bet if I just drove around her area, I could find her house eventually. I'd just look for the fruit.

I absolutely LOVE Ramona and her blog! Oh, and if I only lived 40 minutes away I would HAVE to go and meet her!!!!! Everything she does is just so fun and neat! Also, I have purchased a house pillow and they are even cuter in person than they look on Etsy. Get one...you will be so happy you did!!!

I'm heading over to Ramona's right now! Love the nest too. I have one under glass, but thinking it would only hold one lemon!!!! Maybe strawberries??

Everything is totally cute...but the lemon nest is my favorite. I bet it smells good too. And I have to applaud her wall lettering...hopefully it's vinyl and she didn't have to sit there and paint each letter on.

What a great post - and what a great gal that Ramona must be! Thanks for telling us about her...and I should have guessed that you were from Utah - Utahans seem to have a generosity of spirit and love that they just can't help...I love Utahans! xo, Nan
