Balancing Beauty and Bedlam

On my way home from taking my son to Urgent Care, I saw the first sign of spring........there it was.........I felt a little swarm of butterflies...........the first Garage Sale sign of the season.
I thought about swinging by....but the "perfect mom" syndrom kicked in and I continued on my way to the pharmacy then home.

With the thoughts of yard sales, garage sales in my head, I looked through my FFF and saw that Balancing Beauty and Bedlam has most likely found the best deal in history at a recent yard sale. I officially crown her "Queen" of the best buy! I was so excited for her reading her post. Can you imagine? She found THIS for $5..... FIVE. ..........Cinco. That's crazy!

At first I thought she already refinished it. But she had found a similar piece on another blog. She is currently trying to decided what color. I can't wait to see it. I love all those little compartments.

This is another girl after my heart with her love affair of painting. She recently found a bunch of brass candle sticks.........spray painted them black. Some people are afraid to spray paint metal. Go for it! Or what about glass? Yes, you can!

She's also one of those coupon clipping moms. She's got lots and lots of kids, (that's where the bedlam comes in) so saving on useful items is helpful! I need to look into this coupon thing........I have a hard time with just always seems like it's for stuff I wouldn't normally buy. And besides, I only have one child.......I don't need to save money............NOT! Actually I plan on reading up on her system. I'm sure I'll learn a thing or two.

She just got back from Blissdom.........a blogging conference.......(which by the way........I think I've featured all those in the photograph........why wasn't I there?) She even proved that you can be fashionable without spending top dollar. She put her outfits together for under $10! $10!!!!!! Gawd, I love her!

Following Jen around her blog makes you feel like you're her best friend. She shares the good, the bad and the ugly all in a way we can relate. She shares many family building ideas and moments you can start with your own family today.

I'd love to write a lot more........but excuse me while I chase down Maybelinne.

I dream about finding such great deals. Although, I did pretty well today. Purchased two Bella Notte shams and dust ruffle for $20. They still had the original tags on~ $335.00. I can't wait to go to sleep tonight. :)

yes, what a deal....and Laura, my gosh, what a steal......good deals are out there, I just seem to find the small ones. I got a Chico's jean jacket for 5.99 last week at Goodwill....not too bad, huh?

I was lucky to meet Jen at Blissdom--and let me tell you, she looked even more fabulous in person.

If I could model myself after one mother-blogger around, it would have to be Jen. Her passion for family and creative spirit truly shine through her writing.

So glad you put her in the spotlight!
