Forever and Ever House

Spring is just around the corner.........a time for renewal........a time so many of us like to spruce up our home, get that fresh feeling for the sunshine.
Jill has been sharing the rather large task of remodeling her WHOLE house. Instead of buying a brand spankin new home, they took the green route.........not sure they know that, but they are basically recycling a home. They bought an older home in dyer need of updating. This is their Forever and Ever House, they are working away month by month making changes. Some big, some small. I've enjoyed following their journey and thought you might too. She shows alot of Before and Afters. You know I love those as much as a tutorial.

With so many of us watching our budgets, there may be more of those "do it yourself" projects in your future. I love how her husband and her have mastered most of this. It gives us hope doesn't it?
This is the home BEFORE..........I kind of like the white railing........but I have to admit the white garage is a bit much.

AFTER.........Loving the color of the shutters and door. Even though the door isn't red.......red wouldn't look good with the brick. That's one thing with a brick home like this........you can change out the shutters and door color fairly often if wanted. I'm sure her husband would love to hear that.Let's get right to business...............the kitchen...........BEFORE. Ugh.......I know some people love the honey oak look..........and that's OK........but since this is my blog, I have to admit, I can't stand them! But you gotta do with what you've got.Like painting them white! Love this. What a difference this makes. What an amazing transformation. She's trying to figure out counter tops........and I think her husband needs to stay out of it...........Seriously......she'll be the one cleaning them anyhow right? When you visit her blog, you can get in on the process. This is the living room BEFORE.............BEFORE THEY EVEN OWNED THE HOME! I am so proud of them for looking past all this while home shopping. The real estate agent must have wanted to pull her hair out............I'm giggling at the thought of a home stager trying to help in this situation. She should have at least kept the mirrors. :)Ahhhhh.........some good sense has entered the room. Yes it's the same room. Another amazing transformation. So see people, no matter how ugly you think a room is, there is always hope.....and it usually involves paint! The lovely stairway.........BEFORE. And AFTER! I can breath again.Because their doing this all on a budget, she shows a few decorating tricks. This lamp? Instead of purchasing an over expensive lamp shade........she bought a simple one and added the ribbon trim. She used THIS! Have you ever heard of such a thing? I haven't but love the idea of sewing like this. I think I could even master this. This is a great blog is see what's next, a great place to get ideas on how to change up your own space........so much to look at.

Don't forget about my giveaway down below. Closes Wednesday 5pm.

That house sure is looking great! I love that they are doing it themselves and on a budget since that is the story in my home as well.

I'm SO with you on the honey oak cabinets - can we give a huge YUCK! And it seems like all the houses in our area have oak cabinets. WHAT is the attraction? Can you say white paint, please!?!

Great transformation...
