I first found
Cristin's blog
SER.EN.DIP.I.TY awhile ago by eyeing just a glimpse of this hutch.
I left her a comment that I wanted to see the whole thing........she is just now getting around to it.......good thing I'm a patient woman. She even put "For Miss Kim" :) I love looking into other people's homes, getting ideas, seeing their style. I love this hutch. I also love this one too.
Cristin is one of the most energetic blogging crafty mom's I have come across. She has a ton of children and is always one step ahead of them. They look like such a happy bunch........and she just had a baby a few months ago! I was still trying to figure out the stroller a few months after my son was born, let alone creating and crafting. Look at that baby below! Yes yes, he is cute........I don't deny that.....but now that we have that out of the way, I want you see what that baby is sitting on.........I love that chair. Is it wrong for me to push the cuteness of a baby aside because I'm oooh and ahhing over a chair? I'm horrible...........admitting is the first step.
I love the
Mormon's.
(my sis is lds, so I can say that.......and you already know about my crush on Donny) They have the best family ideas..........I still don't get how they have all these kids and make it through the day without a cup of
joe.............but they do and I love this idea. It's a bit late to do it just like Cristin, but you could adapt it somehow.
She has little notebooks that she has each child write their goals, memories, etc..., they place it inside the box until next year on New Years Eve when they review them and add to it. I'm going out on a limb here, but I doubt there's any
champagne involved. :) On her blog, she shows more details to this. Each little notebook has the
child's photo.......great idea.
She celebrates every holiday imaginable! She is looking for a reason to celebrate every day........gotta love her. My girlfriend Valerie, the queen of holiday celebrations........I don' t think she even knows about this one.
Back to School Cones....... What? Don't tell me you've never heard of them? Well they're big in Germany........Cristin says so. I like it.
Also, she did this..........Give her a plain T-shirt and she's going to make a statement. She made these for her children to wear on their last day of school.
She is such a show off at school. Look at the cupcakes she took for her son's birthday. What a great idea to make a fish out of them. I would have done that, but our school doesn't allow sugar treats..........good thing cuz you know.........I would have done that and made a castle or something. :)
She has an embroidery machine..........I think I'd like one of those. These are burp cloths she made for gifts. I love simple, homemade, personalized gifts like that............I love it even more when a stay at home mom makes them.
A few years ago when we went to Disney land, I saw a few families with matching shirts. I thought "What a great idea"........but since there is only 3 of us, I didn't feel too bad..........It probably comes in handy when trying to keep track of everyone.......That's really the reason I only had one child. I would lose them.........really I would. I would be the crazy mom hyperventilating at Disney because I lost my children. I remember my sister telling me a story about a friend of hers from college. This friend had lots of siblings......lots.....so the mom took off their shirts and wrote on their backs with a sharpie........NAME, NUMBER......etc. Sounds crazy? Crazy enough that I actually have thought about doing that with my son......just in case. Why all this crazy talk about Disney bla bla bla? Well because look what she did.
She cut out mouse silhouettes for t-shirts and appliqued them. That is cute........that's not crazy. Much better than a sharpie. And speaking of silhouettes.....she made these cute ornaments of each child for Christmas. How cute!
Cristin we want to know your secret. How do you have so much energy? How do you do it all?
Lots of great family ideas on this site. So tell her how you found her. I love surprising people.

Yes people like that give the rest of us Mormon women a bad name ;)! I have never made a homemade shirt or wish box, but I'll hold my head high because I HAVE made back to school cones (I was a German exchange student).
Thanks for featuring another great mom with great ideas!
EVERY kid who starts school in Germany gets a school cone (Schultüte) or sugar cone (Zuckertüte) as some call it, too. It is a way to 'sweeten' the first day of the serious part of your life. In the old days the parents even said that they grow on a special tree. But now most of them are made by the moms and the kids can sometimes even wish for a special design, so the whole tree-story is not really convincing anymore. Here you can see wht my son's Schultüte looked like when he started school last year:

Looks like he really loved it, don't you think? (Oh, the woman next to him is his new teacher, not me!)

Oh my! Thank you for the feature! You made my DAY! (Okay I'll be honest, you made my YEAR!) I LOVE.LOVE. TCB and am amazed at the variety of creativity that you share -- such talent! Thank you for the fun post (and for making me sound sooo good)! You are too sweet!
whooo hoooo for featuring one of my favorite bloggers! I am glad you are sharing her with the Creative world!
I love the fish cupcakes how creative! I am always amazed at how much some moms can accomplish. I have just one busy toddler and find it challenging yet others do more than I do and have 4 and 5 kids. :)
just found your blog and really enjoyed it.
will be back
Sandy
Hello there - your blog is brilliant. Thank you! Love you cupcake fish! This is a great idea for my "boys".
I love your blog!! I just had to tell you. I'm 12 and I just started a site on ETSY for my handmade jewelry and a blog about my work. I've been surfing around trying to get ideas for my blog. I love your!! Cambria
I so enjoy browsing your blog and finding so many amazing sites!
Kim, let me know that you received this I am having trouble posting. So you may have gotten this more than once (sorry) Anyway, I do not know if you remember me you emailed me about the wall photo holder that I have a picture of on my blog, well I found them. My local Pier one had a ton of them. They said you should check your local store again and they may have received another shipment. They also had a fabulous tree photo holder for the wall also. I have my eye on that one. The one I have on my blog is only $10 and the tree was $35. Happy hunting. Let me know if you find it. www.lukabella.typepad.com
Its so exciting to come across another mother who loves beautiful things and surrounding her family with them. Everything you have here is lovely!
I love the stuff featured, Ihope she does not mind, I will copy that fish cake for my son this year (He has a severe allergy to milk so all his Birthday cakes are made out of cupcakes by me, and my friend Julie who is much more creative than I am for this type of stuff... and I was stumped for ideas for this year, but not anymore...
Thank You!
Cristin really is just as amazing as her blog makes her seem. I'm so happy to see that you featured her because she deserves it.
