Happy happy Blogiversary GIVE AWAY!

WOW!
Happy Blogiversary to me! Today's Creative Blog!
Give away details below.

Last year on April 9th, I was sitting at my computer catching up with all my favorite blogs, soaking up all the inspiration. Being the American that I am, naturally I wanted MORE! I wanted more ideas, more cool blogs to look at, to read, to connect with. Being the spontaneous person that I am........within that 5 min of trying to search for MORE..........I thought "hey! I'm going to start a blog and feature a different creative blog EVERYDAY!" So I did.........TBC was born starting with a good online friend of mine Nancy Jones..........but as you may have noticed, I couldn't keep up with the daily posting. I thought I could if I just posted the blog, not adding anything else. But I liked adding my own 2 cents.......knowing a bit about it, researched it, tried to get to know who each blogger was........and let me tell you......that takes time. And time is not on my side most days. Being a fitness professional ......(who needs to lose 40lbs)who leaves the house everyday at 6:15am, a mom of a busy 3rd grader, a PTA board member who does the newsletter every 2 week, a school volunteer, a bargain shopper, a wife....... Some days, I just don't have the time. At first I felt guilty, but quickly gave that up.

The goal of this blog is to inspire. To make you think outside the box, whether it's being creative, or helping you believe that you can try something new.

I have LOVED the community we have created. I could not have done any of this without YOU! I have met so many like minded women. We are all creative in our own way, it comes in so many different forms. I am continually blown away with the talent that's out there.

Thank you!

As a Thank you, I am giving away one of Amanda's books. Just leave a comment telling me what your favorite creative talent is and I'll pick one tomorrow (April 10th) at 8pm pacific time, using the random number generator. I would choose one earlier, but I have to work the snack shack at the ball field. :)

Looks like a fun book! My favorite creative talent? Hmmmm...currently I love to make cards for the people I love. I also use my creativity in my little antique booth.

I think my favorite creative talent is the willingness to try new things. I love to craft and have some things that I'm better at than others, but I think my strength is appreciating something new and being open to new things.

Jan Scholl said...

I have always been creative-even making barbie clothes out of paper when I was young. the most useless things I can find another way to use them instead of tossing them. I am the recycle queen.

congrats on a year! I LOVE your blog, I think it's great. My favorite thing is to make collages. Although, I don't get the time to do it as much.

I have been following Amanda's blog for almost two years and love it! She is amazing. My talent isn't exciting, I like to make cards like many others. I'm hoping for a sewing machine for Mother's Day so I can start that hobby again -- my home needs a lot of attention!

Chanda said...

My fav creative is eating food from the snack shack - JK, (sort of.) My true passion is scrapbooking, but I'm finding that my "scrapping" covers a much broader scope since blogging - so much inspiration out there!

PS - I really love this blog. I suck at leaving comments. I'm more of a "blog troll." But I really enjoy it - everyday! Thanks for all your work.

Thank you for posting such great things! I love it!

I have to pick one creative talent?!?!? I'll say a few. Sewing and knitting are my absolute favorites.

This is a hard one. Creative gutsiness - I really admire people who can whip things up, especially clothing, without patterns or directions!
I'm really hoping I win this book. :)

Kimberly said...

Happy Blogiversary!

This looks like an amazing book and I would be blessed to be chosen!

My favorite creative talent is my layout visions. For scrapbooking, cards, or decorating. Being able to visualize something before it is done is wonderful (though also makes it hard for me to follow directions on projects!hehe)

Sandy W said...

I think I'm too late on the book give away but I just saw this ;)
My favorite creative talent is baking comforting goods for others. There are many creative talents I enjoy pursuing and gaining skill in but baking is a gift to the hands putting it together, too. Just the whole process of gathering ingredients, following steps to transform them into something delectable... and seeing cooling in preparation to give for the pleasure of someone else is a heart melody.

I've been playing piano since I was a little girl and now that I'm much older, I'm so thankful to my parents for encouraging me to stick with it. It really is a special gift.

Ok...now does this mean I have two chances to win??? Sneaky huh!!!

I love your blog, and really appreciate you featuring me. I'd have to say my favorite creative talent is being able to take something that is considered junk or disposable, and make it into something functional and beautiful.

Knitting. It has always been knitting. I dabble in almost EVERYTHING else but knitting is the one I always come back to. So methodical and satisfying. I love it.

Victorian Lady said...

Congrats on your blog anniversary! I enjoy it very much. I am having trouble answering your favorite talent part...I would say that I love clay probably the most, but have been doing painting quite a bit lately. I think my favorite part about being creative is never having that box that says, "I only do this or that." To be creative is to jump into a new way of making things whether it it is just new to you or something nobody has ever thought of before. My husband supports my efforts, but would probably like it if I stuck to just one thing...then I wouldn't have so many supplies and tools everywhere! Thanks for a great blog! I know it is a great effort!

Hi there! Congrats on your one year anniversary! My favorite would have to be baking: cookies, cupcakes, any sweets really. when i was a kid i made (/tried to make) loads of things because of something i saw on tv or in the paper, like a sling to carry my doll from watching a program on africa, dolls houses from shoe boxes, trying to weave corn leaves into a mat (ouch, worse than paper cuts!), my cousin and i even attempted to make flip flops from newspapers because we saw it on a program...

Kim, you should never ever feel guilty! It is hard to do a post everyday, and I think we all understand that other things get in the way (pesky families, jobs, etc.).

You should be proud of yourself. I've discovered the wonderful world of blogland and started my own blog and am having a great time. And it's all largely in part to your blog. That's how I've discovered so many of the blogs that I love! So thanks and congratulations!

Oh, and I guess my favorite "creative thing" would be decorating related stuff (making art, painting furniture, etc.). And sewing too, even though I can't do it.

I totally love sewing, but recently discovered that I also love making cards! So right now, those two things are my favorite.=)

So I was totally signed in with the wrong account (Stephanie). Here I am with the REAL account - Moonpie Designs.=) Sorry bout that!

My favorite creative talent would be my new love of sewing. I have a machine that i recently bought and I love it! I also love using my creative talent to try and come up with arts and crafts for my daughter and I to do. So I would really love this book too. Thanks so much for featuring it on your blog! I am fairly new to your blog and love what I have seen so far, so THANKS!

I LOVE your blog and have also been drooling over this book for quite some time! My favorite creative talent has to be designing invitations and notecards. I love to see people's faces when they look at my handmade cards...

...love Today's Creative blog. My favorite creative talent is painting wooden letters to match nursery decor--it is such an honor that stuff my measly hands create is what decorates the room of a darling little baby. Truly a privilege!

I've tried everything once--but have really stuck with scrapping and cards.

Your blog is so fun and I have enjoyed coming here for idea after idea. Thanks for finding such fun blogs and posting them for all of us to see. And don't worry about posting everyday, life happens and sometimes there are more important things!

Because all I really am is crafy... I have a hard time picking just one but, but the one I am really into right now is finding and making decorations for my home.

I love your blog. My favorite creative talent is party planning. But I love to scrapbook too.

I was planning on ordering this book but if you're giving it away...

My favorite crafty talents are sewing and scrappin. I have tried quilting a little but the detail aspect of it is a little dificult with all these kids running around.

Where'd they come from anyway?!

My favourite creative talent is the versatility (sorry if I spelled that wrong) within me. I enjoy so many different crafts and there seems to be no end to adding new ones, too.
Happy Bloggaversary to you!

Congratulations on 1 year! You know I LOVE your blog (and, no, not just ‘cause I'm on it). =)

My favorite is painting! If my hubby would let me, I'd paint everything in our home. For now I'm limited to canvases and crafts. Congrats on the blogiversary!

Oh goodness, it's so very hard to pick just one favorite creative talent. My first love would have to be crocheting. I love the ability to use one skill to make so many different things. I also love the creative ability to think outside the box. Some of my best works have came from just going against the norm and making something completely my own.

Happy Blog Anniversary....I look forward to reading your wonderful blog for many more anniversaries. Your entries are always a joy to read.

Happy Blogiversary Kim!

I just recently found your blog and I am loving it!!! Seeing your e-mail makes me smile because I know you'll have a new crafty link for us to check out.

I like to scrapbook (although I seem to look at blogs more than scrap) and this year started a picture a day club on flickr. All these sites are inspiring me to try new things and revisit crafts from the past.

Thank you!!!
