Reupholster Tutorial
This gal is one of my home girls……well we’re a stones throw from each other. I’m tellin ya…….the Pacific NW has more talent than rain.
Speaking of rain, Molly from The Creative Maven decided she needed this tin bucket for an umbrella stand…….but being sensible as most people are in the PNW, she wasn’t going to pay the unGodly price they wanted and knew she could replicate it for much less.
Once she found her tin bucket, she was in business.
She made her design with 4 circles………brilliant.
And before you know it……….she had herself an umbrella stand. She shows a full tutorial in case you want one too.
While we’ve got the paint out…….why not create your very own “you are special” plate. She tells you exactly what products to use on her tutorial.
This plate turned out so good! You could make different versions and use them for wall art.
This is brilliant! I wish I had seen this about 4 yrs ago. You know those balsa wood dinosaur puzzles? How cool to paint them! Use them to decorate your little explorer’s bedroom.
She’s pretty handy with a sewing machine too…..the kind of woman that makes me GREEN! Green with envy. She took a cheap placemat from The Dollar Store and made a cute tool belt for her little guy. 
This is where I need to suck up…….this is her recovering her chair. A $15 chair she found at a local thrift store.
I have got to be a bright teal by now. I need to slip cover my couch Molly just in case you need more to do. :)
Just one of her pillows she updated her living room with. So cute.
To top it off……how about some raspberry meringues? She thought they would make the perfect dessert during our recent heat wave…….yes we actually have heat waves here…..it doesn’t rain ALL the time.

Miss Crabby Pants
I finally had a little extra time Tuesday morning to click through the many links on Get Your Craft On. I love the Linky Party I’ve created and how many links are full of amazing ideas. I love giving you all a place to show off your stuff. I love building creative women up, making them feel special, sending them some well deserved attention for the things they deem simple. I love giving people exposure! That’s what my blog is all about.
I created Get Your Craft On as a way to show case people for free. I must get 25 emails each week asking if I could mention their blog/site/product. I’m not complaining, it’s just an issue I had no idea I’d have to deal with 4 yrs ago. I have been incredibly fortunate to have a blog that many love coming to each day. 1/2 was pure luck, 1/2 is a lot of time and hard work.
Linking up on Get Your Craft On gives you the opportunity to place yourself in front of my readers. It’s a great opportunity to bring more traffic to your site. You linking your post noting you’re participating in Get Your Craft On is a way for me to also build my readership.
I thought this would be a fun way for everyone to get what they want. But Tuesday morning as I clicked through all the amazing links, I found that most people:
1. Didn’t link at all
There were a LOT of these. I’d say 4 out of 5 would NOT link up. Please make sure to link back to the link party you are participating in. It’s a nice Thank you to the host for giving you exposure. If the button doesn’t work for you, a simple Text Link will.
2. Linked to a “Linking to these parties” page -
I totally get this. I do. I could see myself doing it after seeing others do it. It is SO much easier. But it defeats the purpose. I really doubt many of your readers are going to click on that page and if they do, they are probably not going to click on the buttons. Maybe I’m wrong. But it’s a bit lazy…..there I said it.
3. Buttons displayed on sidebar -
This is the best choice out of all of them if you’re not going to link or display the button in your post. The odds of someone clicking on the button is a bit higher. But linking in your post is best.
I know! I’m cranky…..Maybe I’m over sensitive with my baby starting 6th grade…….which is middle school here. But, I’m going out on a limb here to say that most link party hosts will be screaming an “Amen” to my post.
Many bloggers have given up on linky parties because of the feeling of being taken advantage of. I don’t want to be pushed out like that. My rules are simple. I’m trying to bring you exposure, but my back is itchy too.
This is a perfect example on how a linky party link should be posted……this is what makes you popular! :)

I love Lindsey because she’s such a great Get Your Craft On participant and she always…….always posts my cute button saying she linked up. I love that. She’s also got a lot of fun crafty crafts for you all.
I’m loving these paper flowers…..oh so cute and oh so simple. My favorite motto lately.
You could use any paper design, but I really like the music sheets. Old books would be great too.

If you’ve been reading my blog for over a year, you may know how much I love pears. She took an ordinary fake pear, whipped up some decoupage……tore a few pieces of paper…….
Here’s the finished product. Great idea.
She’s pretty crafty in the kitchen too. Lots of yummy recipes to try and you can print off her cards……..
then you can make this cute recipe organizer. I like this because you can throw it in your purse…..that way when you’re shopping, you can pull out the recipe and make sure to get all the ingredients.

Coffee Filter

Over the weekend I stumbled across
The Pleasure of Homemaking. 
I was wondering how in the world had I missed this blog…..I thought I must have already featured it…….I remember featuring someone who used plates in their garden……..then I see her signature. Manuela…….seriously….how many Manuela’s can there possibly be? I featured a gal with that name………I remember a gal being a regular commenter with that name. I kept searching my past features and nothing was coming up……then I found it….But the blog name was different……….Dazed and confused, I emailed her. She verified that I wasn’t crazy……..did you all hear that? I AM NOT CRAZY.
She did have a blog that I featured way back when. Then she stopped blogging and shut that blog down…….but she just couldn’t stay away, so she’s back…….with a new name……a new blog name anyway. So glad I found her again. She’s got some great ideas. Fun ideas.
Like painting your deck. This is great! 
No need to whine……..she shows a tutorial on how she did all those black and white squares.
She didn’t have to go far to find her inspiration for the deck. I’m diggin that green…..with the fabrics……I just stated on my personal blog that I’m so over toile (pronounced Twall) …….but dang…….she has me re-thinking my whole plan now.
Remember last week when I fell in love with painting an old book and stamping on it……apparently, she got the memo way before I did. This is such a great idea.
Also, do you remember when I said I was a lazy crafter…..THIS is brilliant. Coffee Filter wreath. 
She offers a tutorial so we can ALL have coffee filter wreaths.
She dyed some red, but decided just to use white. I’m kind of excited to try this with the natural color.
She says to “make a rosette” ……in case you’re a lazy crafter like me……that means you scrunch it together.
This is cute…….Love the fork on the plate….it’s monogrammed too.
Sorry to get all holidayish on you, but I couldn’t resist. Look closely…….check out the candles and the eggs.

She made them herself. A little tissue paper, a bit of Mod Podge and you’ve got yourself some originals. Full tutorial on her site.
She also used wrapping paper to do her eggs. Is there anything you CAN’T decoupage?
While were talking Easter…….cute egg tree. Love the polka dot eggs…….Wait! Where did she find polka dot eggs?
Avery helped her make them……..Another Aha! Moment.
One more candle idea……different tissue paper, different candle……same mod podge. So cute.
