Could these bags get any cooler? I don’t even care what they say……..I just love the whole design. They would be perfect for a wedding…….don’t you think?

Well speaking of weddings…….how about these cute little bags full of………..full of…….something. Mints? Once again, I don’t care. It’s all about the packaging for me. Hand me that bag and I’ll love what’s inside…..because of the cute flower and stitching.

A Forest Frolic

My eye is all about photography today……..you know why?  I don’t want to brag, but………but I will.  I’m taking Karen Russell’s photography class and today is the first lesson.  I haven’t really read it yet, because I want to savor it, waiting for a moment when I don’t have a nerf bullets whizzing past my head every 5 seconds. 

I am visually attracted to this site. A Forest Frolic.  Love her photos, some of the angles, the vibrancy of colors.  It’s a new blog…….but I know she’s gonna be big.

She also has that bug to thrift………she found this cute little bird cage…….she wasn’t feeling the gold, so she did what every creative girl would do. 

She painted it!  Isn’t that cute?

 

Here’s one of those photos I was talking about.  What a cutie.  Have I ever mentioned that my son has never had his face painted…….won’t do it.  He won’t even put fake tattoos on.  I hope he holds onto this  sacred body thing until at least age 24.  But it would be cute and offer a few photo ops for now.

She does it all.  She even does a bit of paper crafting.  Lots of ideas for great vintage tags…….she sells them in her Etsy shop.

Summer is in full swing here………My son’s last day of school.  Even though I am just starting Karen’s class, I think  I got some pretty good shots of my son today coming off the bus. Check it out.

Ikat Bag

If you sew, then you most likely already know all about this site. IKAT BAG. This girls is down right amazing……I’m not going to sugar coat it for you. She is in your face with so many free patterns, tutorials she even has me………someone with NO sewing ability at all believing that YES I could possibly make that. Now if she would just do a tutorial on how to thread a sewing machine, I may be in business.

I marvel at women who can sew………….really. I swear if I was as handy with fabric like her, I would have new pillows for my family room weekly….change it up…….because I could. Or I would have a princess house in the middle of my living room……….She made that! SHUT UP! She has the free pattern on her site……..but beware……they are very detailed……She is such a smarty pants.

Here is one of her bags. Love the kids’ drawing. This looks like it’s as durable as one of those Lands End bags. Very cute.It’s so not fair………she makes these wallets…..so much detail……..but I suppose anyone who can draw up those patterns is very much into detail. She’s the Einstein of sewing. And guess what……she doesn’t have an ETSY shop….she’ll do custom jobs if you need something, but she’s too busy with her little ones to promise regular trips to the post office….after my own heart.Speaking of little ones. You can also find many fun kid ideas on her site. Seriously…….Maise Cupcakes? Maybe she’s the cupcake genius too.

Before you go sulking over your cupcake talents…….she has a tutorial on making the cute little mouse. She has so many tutorials and organized so nicely. Her site is very user friendly. She doesn’t have all those messy ads cluttering up everything. :) (hey! it helps pay the bills and it helps my sponsors….so shush)Felt board for little ones……..I’ve always loved those.Origami……..my son loves Origami. She shows step by step instructions……….remember she’s into the details. I can’t wait for my son to try some of these.Totally forgot about this aquarium idea! Good wholesome arty fun for the kids……..and us.And I must end the photo fest with some strawberries! Of course she has a tutorial for all you talented people who sew. Feeling a bit of low energy today…….my body finally succumbed to a cold after 2 years of nothing.  Sure I would get hints of sickness but was always able to snuff it out with all my remedies………not this time.  Teaching fitness classes with no voice or energy is interesting.  I taught 2 injury prevention classes, Step, Lift and Water today………add a cold to this mix…..and a lost voice…….so that’s the reason I have no energy this afternoon.  Are you feeling sorry for me yet?  :)

While perusing my FFF (future feature file) Apples for Poppy Anne was like a warm blanket to my weary body.  Her site has this serene feel to it…….calm……..I would just stare at her photos in Awe….

Maybe it’s what’s IN the photo that made me stop……the sweet little treat there………yes she does have the recipe.

Some people may just view the chair below as a mess……..but she obviously didn’t and I love how it looks…….love all the colors. 

Her garden area looks perfect for an organic garden don’t you think……….it’s the star that does it for me.  Her blog is finding beauty in ordinary life……..We need more practice at that…….or at least I like to remind myself to stop and look at things differently…….find the beauty.

She’s a crafty girl too……sewing, knitting…………but that’s not what’s here below…..I think it’s her husband………his shirt is exactly what I needed today……I laughed so hard. Thank you.

  What I really really liked……..and I’m sure if I were feeling better…..I would have run out and gathered all the supplies to try my hand at this screen printing.  She has a full tutorial on her site…….

I KNOW!  I was that excited too……..Besides showing her little birdy screen print……..look at that baby in the shot.  I think I could eat a whole one.   And you know…….this is what I’m talking about……..Delight!

I wonder if she has a pattern for her stencil…….must go back and see.

If you have children, most likely they are out of school for the summer……..if you live where I live, then they have another week of school.  UGH!  So it really doesn’t seem like my Summer has started………but it really has.  I mean, the 4th of July is just around the corner.  I love 4th of July decorations… Love 4th of July BBQs, Love 4th of July Parades and celebrations……….but I HATE fireworks!  Not only am I thinking how toxic all that smoke is, but it’s loud…..and dangerous.  I can’t wait until Washington State jumps on the same band wagon as most states and STOPS the insanity of legal big gun fireworks……….but I’m getting of the subject aren’t I? 

Decorations.  Love them.  I was visiting Whitney Caroline Designs and she has the cutest tutorial for a ribbon topiary.  Tutorial and Topiary all in the same sentence is almost more than my bladder can stand.

     

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This looks do-able……..it doesn’t look like your fingers are going to ache…….like that silly gum drop topiary I did a couple of years ago……..I wish someone would have told me to use a thimble. 

While at her site, she has some really cute ideas for gifts.  I’m dying over the market basket…..and lots of Monogram gifts.  I love a monogram………..almost as much as topiaries…….well and pears……love me some pears…….and artichokes……..oh and pineapples…….She has desktop downloads for FREE!  Like this pineapple one…….gotta have it!
