4th of July

Whoops, I missed a day of posting?  Hopefully you didn’t notice.  I was finishing up the teacher gifts……which I am happy to report they LOVED them.  One said it was the best gift she’d ever received.  :) You can see them here.

You would never know by the weather here in the Portland area that the 4th of July is right around the corner.  It’s been cold and rainy here….we get a couple of days of sun just to tease us…….then right back to rain.

But who couldn’t use a few 4th of July eggs…….You may as well use eggs for other holiday’s too. image I found her egg entry on my Get Your Craft On………so even though I may not be able to leave everyone a comment…..oh how I wish I could…………I do try to visit everyone.  Thank you for linking.

I knew I’d love her blog with a title like Cheap Chic Home.  That’s me.  Cheap.  imageYou can find a short tutorial on her egg painting on her site.  She has lots of ideas and seems like a very nice woman.  Those are the best kind.image

Now this is cheap………..and very chic.  There is NO excuse for not having one of these now.  From trash to……….image treasure.  She also shows you how to create this cheap but chic table decor.imageThis little paper wreath caught my eye while I was there poking around.  This also reminds me a bit of the 4th.  It would also of course carry over to other holidays too…….or even for non holidays.  :)  Tutorial…..on her site.image Anyone with a linen French grain sack on a chair makes me very jealous.  What’s even more maddening, is I’m pretty sure she whipped this up herself.  Isn’t it gorgeous? image Here’s something fun and original.  A candy tower…….and any excuse to use your cake plate is a good one in my book.  This would be great for a kids party of some sort…..or if you can get candy wrapped in red, white and blue…..that would be perfect!image She also has a tutorial on this……she has one of her children showing us.  Start’em young.

Enjoy your visit and please make sure you leave her a comment……I  mean…..if you were featured, wouldn’t YOU want everyone to leave YOU a comment?

While you’re feeling all “commenty”…..all comments left on my blog in the month of June will be automatically entered to win a Lisa Leonard necklace.  image

Oh, gosh- you gave me a good laugh this morning! I love the finished "mossy ball" (doesn't that remind you of Alec Baldwin???Mr. Schweaty?), but I saw the newspaper and masking tape base and thought that was the finished product..... I thought" the woman has now officially lost her mind"-
Ha! Have a great weekend-Debi
