GordoStyle

Ahhhhhhhhhh...........Christmas is over. I hope you all had a magical day. We were blessed with a total of 24 inches of snow..........today it's 45 degree's and you can imagine the mess. But this post isn't about me.............it's about GordoStyle. She and I are kindred spirits. Mothers of only children......a boy. She gets me and my over abundant focus on every breath my little darling takes. Not to say that you parents of multiple children love your children any less..........it's just a different focus......something I know nothing about. I suppose it would maybe be like watching your youngest grow up........it's your last chance at this stage.

Having only one child means the poor soul gets all our creativeness focus for their birthday. There's only one to plan for........one to show our talents..........one party to do it all.

I must admit...........she over did herself. Talk about details. I'm embarrassed to say I booked my son's last party at a rec center and let them decorate..........just think what would happen if I had more children.

First the invitation. A bowling party.
Not just any invitation..........but a home made one in 3 parts.

Then the party details. See?...................she really showed off...........I bet the other mom's hated her. If they only knew what was in store when they got to the party.

When the children arrive, they were given a name tag...........C.U.T.E. The girl tags were sparkly.

Then of course they need water bottles......you know how thirsty you get when you bowl...........Where in the world did she find these? If she's anything like a true scrapbooker, she found these BEFORE her son wanted a bowling party...........you all know what I mean.......don't you?

She handed out chocolate coin medals..............THAT is such a great idea! Again............I'm sure the other mom's were seething by now...........the dads? Clueless. (I'm sure she has very nice friends who support her creative side............I was only re-living my past experience.............kidding)

And the birthday table! This boy will never know how unlucky other children are. Just in case you're still in the Christmas decor mood.........look at this cute chair she did. She loves painting old furniture too. In other households, this would have been made into a naughty chair............because only children are never naughty.............everything they do is cute.........remember?I don't remember what she used this box for, but isn't it cute? You could do the same thing with other themes too. Now this idea is something. We all love birds right? So cute! Remember when I said she liked to paint? She found this table and painted it this perfect color green..........added the ribbons to her other chairs ............she's created such an inviting outdoor seating area.I LOVE this HOME sign. It's actually 5 different pieces. The little house came from an Etsy shop. We love Etsy. You'll love her blog............I say that all the time, but I always mean it.

Thanks so much for reading and commenting. Even though I can't always comment back, I just wanted you to know how much appreciate you.

Wowee! That is amazing! I've got 5 kids so I've never been able to really go all out on birthday parties, to their disgust. I did go all out on my daughter's wedding, our first child to get married......check it out :)

I am so honored to say that she is my best friend and she is even more talented than you can ever know. Not only that, but she is the dearest friend anyone could ever have. God truly gave me an amazing gift the day she walked into my life. I wish you all could experience the fun she brings to life. Ohh, & the bowling party was even better in person. Our son's are the same age and he got to be one of the lucky recipient's of her cool party. I am so glad you chose her, this has totally made her year!

What fun! I never seem to have the energy to do something like this. I guess if I thought about things BEFORE the last minute, I could probably come up with something nifty for the events in my family...hubby's 40th is coming up!

That's quite a party! My sister has 3 kids and all of their parties are this detailed, too!

What a cool way to decorate for a boring old bowling party! My 5 1/2 year old would love that. Thanks for sharing.
